Have Poems, Will Travel

I’m happy to share my poetry with different groups in various settings, from small gatherings (for book groups, bookshop and coffee shop readings) to classrooms (for academic, environmental, church or fellowship groups), to lecture halls, stages, and outdoor events. Readings, presentations, and lessons can be tailored to fit various themes and time constraints. Here are sample categories:

  • An introduction to the major themes of the cosmic story, sampling from each section of the book
  • The story of humankind from the mythical Garden to the coming of a modern consciousness, drawing from Section 1
  • An account of cosmic origins and the evolution of Gaia, drawing from Section 2 (from the Big Bang to the first humans) and Section 4 (from after humans to the end of time)
  • A vision of the growing destruction of our present epoch and Gaia’s eventual recovery, drawing from Section 3

Generally an event would include from 4 to 12 poems with plenty of time for interaction. Depending on the objective of the hosting group, events may include recitations of selected poems, Q&A, discussion, and book signings. Lessons may include visual images to complement the poems.
